Don't normally post, but I had to say what a fantastic gig on Friday night. A tiny venue, only 100 seats or so and fantastic acoustics in the room. All laid out caberet style with tables with candles rather than lines of seats or standing.
James, the support, did a great set and engaged the crowd nicely, despite a smoke machine malfunction engulfing him half way through the set.
Scott's performance was quite simply stunning. He looked like he was in a trance half the time while he was playing, and his vocals and guitar playing were just mesmerising all through the set. In between songs he immediately reverted to a down to earth Wolverhampton lad cracking jokes and getting into a bit a banter with the crowd, which included his parents.
This is the first time we've seen Scott live and we'll definatly be there next time round. I love the recorded sound of both albums, but Scott's sound live just moves you deeply.
Anyway, enough gushing, sufice to say if you have the opportunity go and see Scott play, you will not regret it! |
